Open the Warehouse Put-away window.
The Warehouse Put-away window contains the instructions that a warehouse employee will follow to put received items into storage. This window is used when the location is set up to require both put-away and receipt processing.
When a warehouse receipt is posted, the program automatically creates a put-away for the receipt, except if the warehouse is set up to first make the lines available in the put-away worksheet. Put-away instructions can also be created from an internal put-away for production output, items not consumed in production, or items that are otherwise being returned to the warehouse as available-to-pick inventory.
After you place the items in storage as indicated on the lines, you register the put-away and thereby make the items available to pick for production orders and outbound source documents (for example, sales, purchase return or outbound transfer orders).
