Specifies the resource's unit price in the Unit Price field on the resource card. You can also set up alternative prices for resources in the Resource Prices window. For more information, see How to: Enter Alternative Resource Prices.
You use the Resource Price Change table to edit and update the alternative resource prices. This table is completed when you run one of the following batch jobs:
-
The Suggest Res. Price Chg. (Res.) batch job suggests unit prices that are based on the prices in the Unit Price field on the resource cards. You can also run this batch job to give a particular resource a unit price, for example, that is 10 percent lower than the usual price. The price in the Unit Price field on the resource card is not changed by this batch job.
-
The Suggest Res. Price Chg.(Price) batch job suggests unit prices that are based on alternative prices in the Unit Price field in the Resource Prices window. You can also run this batch job to change alternative prices that have already been set up.
After you run the batch jobs, you can see the result in the Resource Price Changes window. In this window, you can change unit prices that are not satisfactory or delete lines as necessary. When you are satisfied with all the unit prices, run the Implement Res. Price Change batch job to copy the new unit prices to the Resource Price table.
The Resource Price Change table is different from most other tables. The most important differences are the following:
-
The main function of this table is not to let you set something up, but to let you see the result of the Suggest Res. Price Chg. (Res.) and the Suggest Res. Price Chg.(Price) batch jobs.
-
The contents of the fields in this table are temporary and are deleted or transferred to the Resource Price table when you run the Implement Res. Price Change batch job.
