Specifies codes that identify the different areas of faults encountered with service items. For example, printing, sound, color, cooling/heating, and so on.
Fault area codes, combined with symptom codes, are assigned to different fault codes. A combination of these three codes forms the basis of fault reporting in the Service Management application area. You specify whether you want to use fault area codes by setting the fault reporting level in the Service Mgt. Setup window.
When you have set up fault area codes, you can assign them to service items in the Service Item Worksheet window.
