Shows the code of the currency for the amounts on the journal line.
For customers and vendors, the program automatically retrieves the default currency code from the Customer or the Vendor table when the Account No. field is filled in. If there is no currency code entered on the customer or vendor card, the field will be empty. You can change the currency code if you need to use a currency that differs from the vendor's or customer's default currency.
The amount that you enter in the Amount field on the journal line is in the currency represented by the code. The program uses the currency code and the posting date on the journal line to find the relevant exchange rate in the Currency Exchange Rate table. This is the exchange rate that the program will use to convert amounts on the journal lines to LCY and/or an additional reporting currency.
Important |
---|
When posting to a customer or vendor account on a journal line, if you use a bank account in the Account No. field or the Bal. Account No. field, the currency codes must be the same for the customer or vendor account and the bank account. |
To see the existing currency codes in the Currency table, choose the field.
You can change the exchange rate by choosing the field.
