Specifies the capacity of the work center.
In general the capacity is the amount of work that can be done in a specified time period. The capacity of a work center indicates how many machines or persons are working at the same time. If you enter 2 for example, this means that this work center will take half of the time compared to a work center with the capacity of 1.
The program uses this field when you run the Calculate Work Center Calendar batch job to calculate the capacity in the shop calendar.

Operations on work centers set up as constrained resources will always be planned serially. This means that even if a constrained work center has multiple capacities (the Capacity field is higher than 1), then operations performed by those capacities will only be planned in sequence, not in parallel, as would be the case if the work center was not set up as a constrained resource. |
