When handling sales opportunities, you may need to create a quote for the contact that the opportunity is linked to.
You can create sales quotes for contacts that are not recorded as customers.
You can create quotes for opportunities from the Opportunity List window. Depending on where you access the Opportunity List window from, the window shows opportunities for contacts, campaigns, or salespeople. The following procedure shows how to create quotes from the Salesperson/Purchaser card.
To create a quote for an opportunity
In the Search box, enter Salespeople, and then choose the related link.
In the Salespeople window, select the salesperson or purchaser responsible for the opportunity.
On the Navigate tab, in the Salesperson group, choose Opportunities, and then choose List.
In the Opportunity List window, on the Actions tab, in the Functions group, choose Assign Sales Quote.
Fill in the fields in the Sales Quote window.
