After you have agreed on the discount percentage that the customer will receive on certain items, you register the agreement for the individual items on the lines in the Sales Line Discount window.

To create a sales line discount for a customer

  1. In the Search box, enter Customers, and then choose the related link.

  2. Open the relevant Customer card.

  3. On the Navigate tab, in the Sales group, choose Line Discount. The Sales Line Discount window opens.

  4. The Sales Type field is set to Customer, and the Sales Code field is set to the customer number.

  5. Fill in the Type field with Item or Item Disc. Group. Fill in the Code field with either the item number or the item discount group code. Fill in Unit of Measure and the agreed Line Discount %.

  6. If there are several variants of the item, specify the Variant Code. If the column is not visible, open the shortcut menu for the column headings, and then choose Choose Columns to add it.

  7. If the customer needs to purchase a minimum quantity in order to gain the agreed upon discount percentage, fill in the Minimum Quantity field.

  8. If required, enter the Starting Date and Ending Date of the discount agreement.

Repeat these steps for every item for which you want to create a sales line discount.
