When you set up synchronization for specific fields and Microsoft Dynamics NAV tables, you have to associate the fields with the required Outlook properties. Making this association creates a mapping schema. For more information, see Mapping Schema.
To perform field mapping, you should first define the tables for level 1 or level 2 of the synchronization entity. For more information see How to: Set Up Outlook Synchronization Entities and How to: Set Up Level Two Synchronization.
To map a Microsoft Dynamics NAV field to an Outlook property
In the Search box, enter Outlook Synch. Entity, and then choose the related link.
Select the entity that you want, and on the Home tab, in the Manage group, and choose Edit.
To define the fields for the master table selected in the header, on the Navigate tab, in the Synch. Entity group, choose Fields. To define the fields for the selected supplementary tables, also choose Fields. The Outlook Synch. Fields window opens.
To specify a field that will be mapped to an Outlook property, choose the Field No. field, and then select the field.
Note If the Table No. field is empty when you select a field name, choose a field from the list of fields for the master table or the currently selected supplementary table, depending on where the Outlook Synch. Fields window was opened from. The number of the table originates from the Master Table No. field of the source table for this window. You can specify the number of a different table whose fields will be part of the synchronization. If you specify a different table number, you must define table relations between the selected table and the master tables. For more information, see How to: Define Additional Tables. To define a condition for fields that will be included in the synchronization, apply a filter to the current master table.
In the Outlook Property field, enter the name of the Outlook property which will be synchronized with the Microsoft Dynamics NAV table field. You specified a Microsoft Dynamics NAV table field number in the Field No. field.
To map a Microsoft Dynamics NAV table field to the Outlook property, choose the Field No. field. In the Outlook Synch. Table Fields window, select a field for mapping. The set of fields depends on the table specified in the Table Name field. When you select the field number, the Field Name field is automatically filled with the field name.
In the Outlook Synch. Fields window, fill in the fields with Outlook properties and the Microsoft Dynamics NAV table fields to set the mapping. Fill in additional fields in this window depending on your needs.
