After you have logged a segment, you can create a new segment containing the exact same contacts as the logged segment. For example, after sending information to a group of contacts, you may want to send these contacts additional information, for example, as a follow-up action for a campaign.

If you want to create a segment containing an updated list of contacts matching the same segmentation criteria as the other segment, use the Reuse Criteria function instead. For more information, see How to: Create Segments by Reusing Segment Criteria.

To create a segment by reusing logged segments

  1. In the Search box, enter Segments, and then choose the related link.

  2. In the No. field, enter a new number for the segment and, in the Description field, enter a new description for the segment.

  3. Fill in the other fields on the header.

  4. On the Actions tab, in the Functions group, choose Segment, and then choose Reuse Segment. The Logged Segment window opens.

  5. Select the logged segment containing the contacts that you want to add to your segment, and choose the OK button.

The segment lines are filled in with the same contacts as in the selected logged segment.

If you want to go one step back, on the Actions tab, in the Functions group, choose Segments, and then choose Go Back. For more information, see The Go Back Function (Segments).
