Synchronization levels provide a hierarchical structure that consists of Microsoft Dynamics NAV entities and specific Outlook items that those entities should be mapped to. There are three levels of synchronization in all. The higher levels are parent to the lower levels.
-
Level 1 synchronization - the highest synchronization level where the most general Microsoft Dynamics NAV entities can be specified, for example master tables. From the top of the synchronization levels hierarchy, they specify which Microsoft Dynamics NAV entities of level 2 synchronization are logically related to them, and are included and mapped directly to the chosen Outlook items.
-
Level 2 synchronization - the synchronization level that defines one or more collections of Microsoft Dynamics NAV records that logically belong to a certain Microsoft Dynamics NAV entity defined at synchronization level 1. Microsoft Dynamics NAV entities of synchronization level 2 should always be mapped either to the corresponding Outlook property or collection. Specifying the second level only is not possible.
-
Level 3 synchronization - a Microsoft Dynamics NAV entity is considered to be on synchronization level 3 if it is part of a Microsoft Dynamics NAV entity of synchronization level 1 and 2. Fields of Microsoft Dynamics NAV entities of synchronization level 3 should always be mapped to the corresponding Outlook collection element.
