A synchronization exception is a setting in Outlook that defines which categories of Outlook items should not take part in synchronization.

For example, you may want to synchronize appointments but define that appointments which contain "non work related" in their subject should not be synchronized. In this case, you define a synchronization exception.

You can define settings for synchronization exceptions on the Filters FastTab of the Settings page of the Outlook add-in.
